Filing, Catching Up, or Responding to the IRS — Handled by an Enrolled Agent

Tax preparation isn’t the same as tax strategy. This is the hands-on work: preparing and filing your return, catching up on years you’ve fallen behind, or responding when the IRS has already reached out. As an IRS Enrolled Agent, I’m federally licensed to prepare returns and represent clients directly before the IRS — audits, notices, collections, and everything in between.

Who This Is For

You may benefit from tax preparation or representation if you:

  • Need your current-year return prepared and filed
  • Have one or more years of unfiled returns
  • Received a notice, audit letter, or collection notice from the IRS
  • Owe back taxes and need a resolution plan
  • Want ongoing representation instead of facing the IRS alone

What’s Included

  • Current-year tax return preparation (individual, self-employed, small business)
  • Prior-year and multi-year delinquent filing catch-up
  • IRS notice response and audit representation
  • Payment plan negotiation and collection resolution
  • Direct representation before the IRS as your Enrolled Agent

This Is — and Isn’t

This is:

  • Tax return preparation and filing
  • IRS representation and resolution work
  • Licensed, independent, judgment-free

This is not:

  • Forward-looking tax strategy sessions (see Tax Strategy & Planning)
  • Legal advice
  • Investment management or securities advice

Working with a CPA or attorney?

Tax preparation and representation can complement an existing relationship with your CPA or tax attorney — I’m happy to coordinate where useful.

Alaska-Specific Filing Considerations

Delivered virtually from Wasilla, Alaska, to clients across the Mat-Su Valley and throughout Alaska. Familiar with Alaska-specific filing considerations, including Permanent Fund Dividend reporting and self-employment tax situations common among Alaska contractors and tradespeople.

Preparation, filing, or representation begins

An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federally licensed tax practitioner authorized by the IRS to prepare tax returns and represent taxpayers before the IRS at every level — audits, collections, appeals, and notices. Unlike some tax preparers, an EA’s license is federal, not state-specific, and requires passing a comprehensive IRS exam covering individual, business, and representation topics, plus ongoing continuing education.

Tax Strategy & Planning is forward-looking advisory work — proactive decisions made before the year closes to reduce what you’ll owe. Tax Preparation & IRS Representation is the hands-on work of actually filing your return, catching up on unfiled years, or responding to the IRS directly. Many clients use both, but they’re separate engagements with separate scope.

Yes. Multi-year delinquent filing is one of the areas I work in regularly — gathering the necessary records, preparing back returns, and building a plan to get you current and in good standing with the IRS.

Yes. As an Enrolled Agent, I can respond to IRS notices, represent you in an audit, and communicate directly with the IRS on your behalf so you’re not navigating it alone.

Yes. Enrolled Agent status gives me unlimited representation rights before the IRS, meaning I can speak with them directly on your case without you needing to be on every call or in every meeting.

Yes. All tax preparation and representation sessions are conducted virtually via Zoom, so I work with clients throughout Alaska and beyond.
