HonorPoint Financial LLC provides financial planning, tax preparation, and related advisory services to individuals, families, military members, and small business owners. Our services include:
- Financial planning consultations and ongoing financial guidance
- Tax preparation and filing services for individuals and businesses
- Access to our client portal, including financial dashboard, account aggregation, debt tracking, budgeting tools, and insurance review features
- Educational content and financial literacy resources
HonorPoint Financial LLC is registered as an investment adviser in the State of Alaska. Investment advisory services are subject to separate advisory agreements and applicable regulatory requirements.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use our services. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. Our services are intended for individuals located in the United States.
3. Client Portal Access
Access to our client portal is provided to clients who have engaged HonorPoint Financial for services. By using the client portal, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and using portal features
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Use the portal only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
- Not attempt to access other clients' accounts or data
- Not use automated tools, scripts, or bots to access or scrape the portal
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your portal access at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice.
4. Financial Account Connectivity (Plaid)
Our client portal offers optional integration with Plaid Technologies, Inc. ("Plaid") to allow you to connect your financial accounts for aggregation and analysis. By connecting your accounts through Plaid:
- You authorize HonorPoint Financial to access and display your financial account data through Plaid's services
- You acknowledge that your use of Plaid is also subject to Plaid's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
- You understand that connecting accounts is voluntary and that core services are available without account connectivity
- You may disconnect your accounts at any time through the client portal
HonorPoint Financial does not store your financial institution login credentials. Account data retrieved through Plaid is used solely to provide portal features and financial planning services.
5. Not a Substitute for Professional Advice
The tools, calculators, and information provided through our client portal — including net worth tracking, spending analysis, debt payoff calculations, and budget projections — are intended to support your financial planning conversations with your advisor. They are not a substitute for personalized professional advice.
Financial projections, estimates, and calculations provided through the portal are based on information you provide and may not reflect your complete financial picture. Past performance of investments is not indicative of future results. Property value estimates provided through Rentcast are third-party estimates and are not guaranteed to reflect actual market value.
6. Tax Services
Tax preparation services are provided by Matthew Gorrell, Enrolled Agent. By engaging tax preparation services, you agree to:
- Provide complete and accurate tax information and documentation
- Review all tax returns prepared on your behalf before filing
- Understand that you are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of your tax returns
- Pay all fees for tax services as agreed upon in your engagement letter
HonorPoint Financial is not responsible for penalties, interest, or other consequences resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide.
7. Fees and Payment
Fees for services are outlined in your engagement letter or service agreement. By engaging our services, you agree to pay all applicable fees as specified. We reserve the right to adjust our fees with reasonable advance notice.
Failure to pay fees when due may result in suspension of services and portal access. You are responsible for any costs incurred in collecting overdue amounts.
8. Confidentiality
We maintain the confidentiality of your personal and financial information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable professional standards. We will not disclose your information to third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy or as required by law.
As an Enrolled Agent and registered investment adviser, Matthew Gorrell is subject to professional confidentiality obligations under applicable law and professional standards.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on our website and client portal, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of HonorPoint Financial LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our express written permission.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HonorPoint Financial LLC, its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services or client portal, including but not limited to:
- Errors or inaccuracies in financial data retrieved through third-party services such as Plaid or Rentcast
- Interruptions or unavailability of the client portal
- Unauthorized access to your account resulting from your failure to maintain credential security
- Financial decisions made based on information provided through our portal tools
Our total liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the fees paid by you to HonorPoint Financial in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HonorPoint Financial LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your use of the client portal or our services, your provision of inaccurate or incomplete information, or your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
12. Third-Party Services
Our services integrate with third-party platforms including Plaid Technologies, Inc. (financial account aggregation), Rentcast (property value estimates), Calendly (scheduling), SignWell (document signing), and others. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services. Your use of third-party services integrated with our platform is subject to those services' own terms and policies.
13. Modifications to Services and Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services or client portal at any time with reasonable notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the client portal.
14. Termination
Either party may terminate the service relationship at any time. You may terminate by providing written notice to info@honorpointfinancial.com. We may terminate your access to services and the client portal for violation of these Terms, non-payment of fees, or any other reason with reasonable notice.
Upon termination, your right to access the client portal will cease. You may request a copy of your financial planning documents within 30 days of termination. Tax records will be retained in accordance with applicable law and professional standards.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Anchorage, Alaska, in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or confidential information.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with your engagement letter or service agreement and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and HonorPoint Financial LLC with respect to our services. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
